National Day of Prayer

This year’s theme for the MAY 2 National Day of Prayer is: "LIFT UP THE WORD ——LIGHT UP THE WORLD” 2 SAMUEL 22:29-31 Prayers for our nation have a long history. Since 1775 when the Continental Congress asked the colonies to pray for wisdom in forming a nation, to President Lincoln’s proclamation in1863 saying: “We have been preserved in peace and prosperity, - but we have forgotten God", followed by a 1952 joint resolution in congress declaring an annual National Day of Prayer, to a permanent setting declared by President Reagan in 1988 that an observance of a National Day of Prayer would be held on the first Thursday of every May, we have lifted prayers for our country. A display and materials to distribute will be found in the narthex in the weeks prior to this day. Everyone will be encouraged to take materials including prayer guides and book marks to distribute among your neighbors or apartments and condos where you live. National observances will be announced by the National Day of Prayer Task Force and information will be available at www.nationaldayofprayer.org

TAKE ME OUT TO THE BALL GAME! Are you ready for some baseball? We are putting together a group outing to see the Lake Country Dockhounds on Friday, June 14, 2024. They play at Wisconsin Brewing Company Park, 1011 Blue Ribbon Circle North, Oconomowoc. It is just off I-94 near Fleet Farm and Aurora Summit Hospital. Tickets are $17/person. Parking is $5/car. The park is very family friendly. We are on the 3rd base side (sun should not be in our eyes). We are very close to the field, rows 1& 2 so very few stairs. We also have a spot for a wheelchair. We will have a Tailgate party at Jodie and John Fleckenstein’s house at 4:30 and proceed to the game at 5:45. The game starts at 6:35. There is a sign-up sheet on the kiosk in the narthex.
